“Father, we thank you for making a way for us in 2024. Indeed, our souls have escaped as a bird from the snare of the fowlers; the snare is broken, and we have escaped (Psalm 124:7)”

Beloved Senior Friends,

Happy New Year! As we step into 2025, we pause to reflect on the blessings, challenges, and successes of the past year. It has been a year of growth, unity, and fulfillment, as we have come together in fellowship to make a significant impact on the lives of students and alumni alike.

We are especially grateful for the successful start of the new executive team’s tenure, whose leadership has helped drive our association forward with purpose and vision. Through their guidance, we witnessed the seamless execution of our quarterly programs, each of which brought us closer together in faith and community. We also recognize the immense support of the Board of Trustees throughout the year.

A particular highlight of 2024 was the acquisition of a new bus for the ASF students; a project made possible by the generous donations from many of you. Your support has paved the way for improved transportation, making it easier for the students to attend events, programs, and grow in their Christian journey. Thank you for your contributions!

Our shared commitment to prayer also shone brightly in 2024. On October 1, we gathered for the International Day of Prayer, united in spirit and purpose, as well as our consistent fortnightly prayer meetings. These moments of intercession have strengthened us and reaffirmed our faith in God’s plan for us as an association. The Annual Carol and Thanksgiving program was a joyful occasion, reminding us of God’s faithfulness throughout the year. We witnessed impactful quarterly events and induction of newly graduated citizens into the network. We also had a successful completion of our annual audit, ensuring transparency and accountability in our stewardship of the association’s resources.

Thanks to each and every one of you who participated in and supported these programs and initiatives. Your dedication, prayers, time, and resources have made all this possible, and we could not have done it without you.

As we look ahead to 2025, we are filled with excitement and anticipation. This year promises to be one of immense significance, especially with the upcoming Jubilee Reunion on the 3rd to 5th of October 2025, which will commemorate the 50th anniversary of ASF/AYF. This milestone is a testament to God’s grace and faithfulness over the years, and we look forward to celebrating it with you all in a grand way.

No matter what the world sees in 2025, we shall not be perturbed, for all I can see is Jesus! (Heb. 2:9). The Lord God will visit us individually and collectively and we shall know it. The presence of the Lord will go with us and He will give us rest (Exodus 33:14). For as many as can receive this, I see that in 2025, the Lord has set us over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out and to pull down, to destroy and to throw down, to build and to plant (Jer. 1:10) in all walks of life where we find ourselves.

Let us come together to make 2025 a year filled with even more impactful programs, strengthened connections, and deeper fellowship. May God continue to bless you and your families abundantly in Jesus’ mighty name.

In Christ’s Love,
Adebayo Adeniyi
President, SFCN
